Step 1: Select fabrics
Common fabrics for baseball caps include:
Pure cotton: soft, breathable, and most comfortable to wear
Polyester-cotton blend: more durable, not easy to shrink and deform
Twill/quick-drying fabric: suitable for sports hats
Customers can choose the right fabric according to their budget and purpose. If you are doing branding or event customization, the color can also be specially dyed.
Step 2: Cutting
After the fabric is selected, the factory will use a machine to cut the fabric into small pieces according to the sample drawing of the hat. Baseball caps are generally 6-piece structures, so a hat needs to cut out 6 pieces of hat body cloth, brim cloth, sweatband cloth, etc.
Step 3: Sewing
This is the most critical step in the entire production. Workers will sew the cut pieces of cloth together in order:
First sew the hat pieces to form a round hat body
Then sew the sweatband
Then add the brim and fix it with a special sewing machine
Finally, install the adjustment strap (Velcro, metal buckle, plastic buckle, etc.)
Step 4: Add LOGO (optional)
If the customer needs a customized LOGO, this step is very important. The LOGO can be made in the following ways:
Embroidery: classic and durable, suitable for brand use
Silk screen printing/thermal transfer: rich colors, suitable for event hats and promotional hats
Leather label/epoxy label: textured, suitable for trendy brands or high-end customization
Step 5: Ironing and shaping
After the hat is sewn, it will be ironed as a whole to make the hat shape more upright, without collapse or deformation.
Step 6: Quality inspection + packaging
Before each hat leaves the factory, it will be inspected to confirm that there are no threads, damage, or irregular hat shape. After inspection, packaging is carried out:
Generally, OPP bags are used for packaging
You can also customize hang tags, washing labels, paper box packaging, etc.
Step 7: Shipping
Finally, after all the hats are ready, the factory will arrange for shipment. If it is a bulk order, the factory usually uses a logistics company to deliver it to the designated location. If it is a customized small batch order, fast shipping methods are usually selected to ensure that customers receive it as soon as possible.
